Console Telnet 2.0b7 Release Notes There are a number of important changes in beta 7 that you may want to be aware of. One important feature is the ability to change the screen size. This is done via the TERM_WIDTH, TERM_HEIGHT, and WIDE_ENABLE configuration options. See OPTIONS.TXT for more details. Another important feature is separate input/output redirection. It is still possible to use TELNET_REDIR, but INPUT_REDIR and OUTPUT_REDIR give you more control over what gets redirected. Next are the new options that have been added to the telnet command line. You can use the "z" and "suspend" commands to drop to a DOS prompt while your telnet session is paused. You can also, like in Unix, use Ctrl-U to erase a line, rather than using backspace to go a character at a time. There are also some changes to the keyboard. You can use DIAL_KEY to specify a key that in conjunction with the ALT key will open a new telnet window. The default is Alt-\. There are also some changes to the key translator; see CHANGES.TXT and KEYS.CFG for more information. Last are the changes to the "set" command; all variables are now divided into groups. The new format for the set command is: set [group [variable [value]]] If you have any problems, or questions, please email the mailing list, telnet-win32@argeas.argos.hol.gr, or me at pbranna@clemson.edu. Console telnet is a group effort, and thanks goes to everyone who's helped (and to everyone who's posted bug reports)! Keep up the good work! Paul Brannan
